juz came back from the genting trip.
it's rather sad though. considering how it would be the last tme we would ever get to play with our j2 seniors.
arrived at 6.00am in sch on monday morn.
our instruments were in the band room.
but the gate at the ramp was locked.
so the guys climbed over. ran to the band room carried the instruments over to the other side.
quite tedious actually but we completed tt task in less than an hour.
i tink.
and THEN, the guard came and OPENED the gate.
took a 6-7 hours long bus ride and finally arrived at our hotel.
opening ceremony at night and our only rehearsal for the competition the next day.
had "mental" sectionals at 10pm.
"lights out" were at 10.30pm.
kt had to come pay a visit.
i guess tt's one of the disadvantages of sharing the same room with the band president.
haha fab ducked under the bed and the rest juz tried to squeeze and hide behind the cupboard.
D-DAY:
MJCSB played well.
everyone was smiling and cheering after it all.
then sumone mentioned tt we went overtime.
by 17 seconds(will result in a 5% penalty).
there was some confusion bout wad the organizers told ms sia and wad the judges knew bout it.
results were postponed from 12.30pm to 6pm.
after the bands in both sessions performed.
so we had free time, watched harry potter with elaine, fab, kinlok and kaiyan.
after tt we rushed to the ballroom to get the results.
benny was told by ms sia to prepare for the worst.
cuz we were most probably gonna get penalised.
we needed 85% to get a gold.
so we may only get a silver.
there were already pple crying before the results were announced.
den "band no. 3. Meridian Junior College. GOLD."
we were screaming and cheering and then we toned down.
we got 85.12% after the penalty(which wasn't shown on the screen).
our next goal was to get top band.
but alas, we got 2nd. cuz orchid park beat us by 0.08%.
most of us juz burst into tears.
overall, four bands got gold.
and the four were to perform for the closing ceremony on thursday.
before the performance, it was the prize giving session.
and Mr Ong announced tt they've changed their grading system.
85% = Gold With Distinctions
80% = Gold
75% = Silver
sumthing like tt.
and they showed the results all over again.
for Singapore Rhapsody, we got 440+/500.
and for Noah's Ark, 453/500.
a total of 89.6%.
but minusing the 5% penalty, we got 85.12%.
oh well.
well, after closing ceremoney, took lotsa photos.
den the saxtion plus junwen and vincent went to a pub and had some drinks.
after tt, we all went to mac's and back to our rooms.
tim and vincent came over to play cards.
timtay fell asleep soon.
so blueball showed us some tricks!
in return i had a trick up my sleeve too.
and we played a memory game.
it was so stupid i laughed until my stomach ached.
den uncle D came in to crash and all of them fell asleep.
at 5am today.
overall, the trip was rather fun.
